Los Corraleros de Majagual are considered like one of the best interpreters of the music of the Colombian Atlantic Coast.

Los Corraleros were up to date with the times and could pull off more than just porros and fandangos. In addition to adding all sorts of genres to their repertoire, the band began utilizing an electric bass (unheard of at the time for ‘typical’ groups) for greater attack, and added quite an array of brass to their arsenal so they could blow away the competition. One of the indigenous genres added to their line-up in the mid-60s, the Colombian pompo rhythm was also made popular in Venezuela by Los Melódicos and Carlos Pickling in Peru.
