Multi-instrumentalist but especially a piano player, had barely turned 15 when he joined with Macedo's band. It was 1962 and Lucho Macedo was at the peak of his career. Every Saturday he had so many shows booked that he had to create a sonora A and B in order to play simultaneously at two different places of the capital. Macedo would go first where the A band was, play a set, and then go to the party where the B band was playing. Alfredito Linares used to replace the director at the intervals. After an untimely departure, the pianist went to record with Ñiko Estrada, before becoming a musical director himself.
