Before the word “mockers”, Los Sirex already were mods and rockers of the highest calibre even if they didn’t know it yet. It all started in 1959, but it was after their appearance on the film “Súper espectáculos del mundo” (as Los Sirex y sus Guitarras Eléctricas) that everyone in Barcelona was talking about them. They had been playing for four years and two years earlier Leslie (Antoni Miquel Cerveró) had replaced Santi Carulla, then singer of rivals Los Mustang. They were first-class rockers: irate, cocky, unrestrained, the undisputed idols at San Carlos Club. They signed to Vergara and in 1964 they released four! EPs. The rest is history.
