After appearing as vocal accompaniment of star Palito Ortega and having a few hits in their country of origin, Argentina, Los Tíos Queridos landed in Spain in 1971. Fronting the four-piece was Joe Borsani (some years later and along with one of the future vocalists of the group, Rubi, they would be relevant members of Madrid’s Movida scene with their bands Sissi and Rubi y Los Casinos). He was an eager and curious composer who wanted to leave behind the bubblegum style they had practiced until then, and they had the opportunity to do so when they met the great producer Adolfo Waitzman, also an Argentine.
