The mid-1970s were the era of jazz-rock, and that fact was also partly owed to the communist censors: no lyrics, no troubles. Inevitably, progressive rock music became mainly instrumental, be it on stage or in studio. That had indirectly affected many professional jazz and pop musicians who on the other hand were given unexpected room for crossover experiments. Václav Týfa was an accomplished trumpeter in his own right and in many genres, and he may have deserved more solo albums than just the one with Josef Vobruba's Konstelace.
