As a follow-up to our previous work reissuing the recordings of Pau Riba, key figure in Catalonia\u2019s counter-culture and music scene, Munster now presents \u201cJuguetes de \u00e9poca y cajas de cerillas \u2014 Singles y rarezas \u00b7 Primera \u00e9poca (1967\u20131969).\u201d<\/p>\n
This collection brings together songs taken from rare releases in his discography\u2014such as the album recorded at one of the concerts performed by Grup de Folk during its brief existence, \u201cFolk 2\u201d (1968)\u2014as well as from his singles: \u201cTaxista!\u201d (1967), \u201cNoia de porcellana\u201d (1969), \u201cMiniatura\u201d (1969), \u201cL\u2019home est\u00e0tic\u201d (1967), \u201cPau i Jordi\u201d (1968), and \u201cEl Nadal no t\u00e9 20 anys\u201d (1967).<\/p>\n
Alongside these tracks, this compilation also releases for the first time part of the previously unheard material found on magnetic tapes discovered in the artist\u2019s studio after his passing. Among these tapes were the instrumental recordings of \u201cTaxista!\u201d\u2014versions with slight differences from those issued on the original single, possibly prepared for television playbacks. These recordings provide further insight into the making of Riba\u2019s first release, particularly regarding the mixing process and the later addition of subtle details. <\/p>\n
