From Colombia, Los Pira\u00f1as unveil an uninhibited, frenetic and noisy study on the psychedelic connections between champeta, Afrobeat, rock and cumbia, featuring members of Frente Cumbiero and Meridian Brothers. This 5-CD package also includes the salsa sounds of Bio Ritmo, a Richmond based orchestra recognized around the globe for their innovative songwriting and for pioneering the \u2018indie\u2019 salsa movement, and \u201cSalsa Bestial\u201d, a selection of tracks from Borinquen Orquesta El Macabeo\u2019s two first albums. To round off the offering, \u201cEscaldante Banda\u201d is a slice of garage-rock-influenced soul music with scorching guitar solos, horns and ass shaking rhythms recorded by Brazilian combo Garotas Suecas combining the best elements of their country\u2019s homegrown tropicalia with Anglo-American soul and freakbeat.
