Kikí d'Akí
Break A Way
Two previously unreleased tracks recorded at Madrid’s Maravillas venue in November 1986. Limited edition of 350 copies with sleeves printed in 12 different colours.
During a few brief nights in the Autumn of 1986, Kikí d’Akí (artistic name of María José Serrano after the split of her former band, Las Chinas), who had only released five tracks until then, performed her complete repertoire in front of the Madrid audience. Some of those songs were actually released decades later, as the band broke up the next year; others remained unreleased, two of which we rescue for this single: ‘Breakaway’, written by Jackie DeShannon and Sharon Sheeley, and ‘Abyssian Secret’, which had been recorded by Cilla Black. Two covers which reflect the energy and diversity of influences behind them, realised during a period in which everything still seemed possible. Limited edition of 350 copies with sleeves printed in 12 different colours. Avaliable online only from Munster website and under subscription to the Munster Records Singles Club. Sleeve colours will be picked randomly.
