No matter how many covers of the ‘Batman theme’ you may have heard before, this is really something else, as crazy and psychedelic as the tale of Batman traveling to Mars could suggest… Cosmic sound effects, drum breaks, organ riffs and a snotty voice-over building an increasingly chaotic atmosphere that eventually let the ‘Batman theme’ explode…

Célio Balona is a pianist and composer whose very long recording career has been mainly focused on MPB (Brazilian popular music). By the late ‘60s he would also embrace modern pop and and would eventually experiment with the challenging sounds of psychedelia.

To round off this fab compacto, the B side hides another gem: ‘Tema de Ônibus’, a brass section-led instrumental jazz track for the dancefloor with farfisa sounds, just perfect for those into mod jazz!
